This is a lightweight electric glider with ailerons and FLAPS. This is what is needed for those accurate landings required in F5J Glider competitions.

The Pulsar 2.0 PRO - the new, resdesigned PRO version that replaces the Pulsar 2008- is made in the Ukraine by free flight modellers who know how to build strong and light. The total weight of this kit is 320g. That's right, only 320g!! And that's for a 2.0m glider!

The wing is a three-piece unit of carbon construction with balsa ribs capped with carbon strip, and already covered in Oracover Lite. The leading edge is all carbon weave cloth back to the spar. The trailing edge is a thin strip of carbon. The joiners are carbon rods. The wing section is an AG5 modified - thin (fast climb) and slightly undercambered (great glide). The wing is mounted on a fuselage pylon to allow a single flap in the centre panel of the wing, operated by one servo.

The fuselage pod is made from Kevlar and matches the wing in colour. There is a removable hatch to access the battery and ESC. The fibreglass nose former is already fitted and strengthened. The tail boom is a rolled carbon tube.

The tailplane and fin bolt on (bolts supplied). Other accessories include control horns and carbon fairings for aileron and flap servos. The Pulsar 2.0 PRO can pack flat in a box for transport or storage.

Controls are ailerons (two servos), flaps (one servo), elevator and rudder. Sub-micro servos like the JR-375 or the Dymond D60 or the Dymond 47 are recommended. Alternatives are the Hyperion DS-09 range of digital servos (with plastic or metal gears). A new possibility is the KST range of metal-geared, metal-case compact servos: KST-DS245MG and KST-DS245H

Use a Hyperion G5 or Hyperion G6 packs (850, 900 or 1100 mAh packs) for a battery. A 2S pack may be used for gentler flying. A Hacker A20-6XL with 4:1 gearbox fits this model. Even better, the Leopard/Reisenauer geared combo gives the best fit. For direct drive, a Hyperion ZS2218-14 is ideal and an economy option if you can cope with the motor cables. These small diameter motors are necessary because of the thin nose of the Pulsar 2.0 PRO.
